Learning to Lead with the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance
Attending the Alliance Management Institute (AMI) this year was truly an honor. We had the opportunity to speak at the conference on how mobile giving can impact the great work a nonprofit does while giving some best practices around fundraising and engagement.
As well, we had the opportunity to hear amazing keynotes from some incredible nonprofit leaders in technology, development, engagement, and leadership.
Leadership is a fascinating subject.
It is without a doubt one of the most important skills to usher in a new world that only you can imagine. And if there's one thing I've learned in life, you will be awarded with as many leadership opportunities as you take. So take charge. Be bold. Lead from the front. Lead by example, not from behind. Treat others as you want to be treated. Never ask someone to do something you wouldn't be willing to do. Be firm but fair. Don't lose your temper, until it's time to lose your temper.
What #AMI2017 Is..
AMI 2017 is an incredible national conference designed for 500+ college students building a career in world changing. It is jam packed with educational workshops, networking opportunities, and career development activities. There are oppotunities to become certified and take your social good career to the next level.
Are You Ready to Lead the World into a New Era?
There is a fresh energy about this year. Almost everyone I've talked to can feel it. It's a higher vibrational energy that is fueled by our constant interconnected nature.
I remember growing up with AOL chat in the 90's and could only imagine what the world would be like in a couple decades. And here we are, always connected in a free flowing world of information (at least for now. #NetNeutrality).
With that flow of information, we're all realizing we're a little more alike and share a lot of commonality than we thought in the 90's in our siloes, being fed information en masse from massive corporate media.
And our eyes have turned towards social good.
We sapiens are a deeply compassionate species that truly care for one another, our animal friends, and the planet as a whole... that is once our Maslow's hierarchy of needs are met.
It is our duty to lead by example and rally communities to do good and make the world a better place.
Thank you & be well,
p.s. if you're ever looking for to start or continue your career in world changing, we're always looking for motivated, bright, and innovative minds to grab an oar, get in the boat with us, and start rowing for social change. You can let us know here and we'd be exstatic to hear from you.
