Sending a text message can now mean saving money on groceries, thanks to a new fundraising campaign from mGive and A&P. The A&P family of supermarkets launched the “Text, Give, Save” campaign last week, which lets customers text “KIDS” to the number 90999 from their mobile phones to make a $5 donation to the Children’s Miracle Network. Customers of A&P, Pathmark, Waldbaum’s, SuperFresh and The Food Emporium stores get access to $10 in coupons once the donation is confirmed. The coupons can be automatically loaded onto their club card and are good for discounts on various Procter & Gamble products, including Always, Bounty, Cascade, Charmin, Crest, Gillette, Olay, Pampers, Pantene and Tide.
Text, Give, Save is a unique win-win situation for A&P customers, who can save money while giving back to those in need. While many people are familiar with mobile donations from the campaign that raised millions for earthquake relief in Haiti, this campaign provides shoppers with something additional: a direct benefit from their donations. Besides the coupon benefits, donating via text message is also environmentally friendly and efficient, since it’s paperless and involves sending a simple keyword. The donation amount is then added to the donor’s mobile phone bill.
The coupons are made possible through a partnership between Procter & Gamble, Children’s Miracle Network, Zavers, mGive, Blue Chip Agency and Vestcom. The last day to receive the coupon discounts is July 22, so hurry if you’d like to take advantage of this offer! Of course, anyone—even those who don’t shop at A&P stores—can donate to the Children’s Miracle Network by sending “KIDS” to 90999. The Children’s Miracle Network is an organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for 170 children’s hospitals throughout North America.
