mGive is excited about the recent release of "Gardens of the Night," a film that supports the mission of our valued partner, the AmberWatch Foundation. "Gardens of the Night" chronicles the lives of two young children abducted by the same man at a very early age. Though the story is fictional, it depicts a harrowing reality faced by missing children across the United States. Damian Harris, writer/director for the film, says his inspiration came from two particularly resonating images he remembers from the mid 1980's:
"The one on a milk carton was of a small eight-year old girl, smiling at me in black and white, mercifully clueless about her own future, promoting awareness that was meant to help others like her. The second was of a boy on the cover of NEWSWEEK magazine, Kevin Collins, and the headline 'Stolen Children.'"
The film is showing at select locations in New York and California, and mGive encourages all who are able to attend. To support the AmberWatch Foundation's mission of helping children stay safe from sexual predators and abduction, mGive $5 by texting AMBER to 90999.
