“Powering social good” is not just the mGive motto, it’s a reflection of our passion and daily motivation.  mGive is proud to power the mobile donations for Night of Too Many Stars: America Comes Together for Autism Programs, benefiting New York Collaborates for Autism. Our partnership with New York Collaborates for Autism and Comedy Central began in 2010 and this will be our third telethon together.

Tune in to Comedy Central this Sunday, March 8th at 8pm EST / 7pm CST when Jon Stewart will once again host the biennial fundraiser for autism programs.  Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, Louis C.K., Larry David, John Oliver, Amy Schumer, Martin Short, Sarah Silverman are just some of the stars that will make an appearance during the show.

Night of Too Many Stars has raised over $18 Million since 2006, giving children and adults with autism the opportunities they deserve to learn, to contribute and to live the fullest lives possible.  Your donation to New York Collaborates for Autism benefits a variety of autism programs across the country in support of the overabundance of individuals with autism that so desperately need quality services.

mGive is excited to be part of such a great event and provide viewers an easy way to donate.  In addition to online donations, you can make a $10 text donation by texting the word STARS to 50555.  After confirming your $10 text donation, you can invite your Facebook and Twitter friends to get involved.

Night of Too Many Stars is a great example of a well-planned and executed mobile donation campaign during a live event.  If your organization is considering using text-to-give at your next event, here are a few important best practices to keep in mind:

-          Provide a compelling reason why your audience should make a donation

-          Provide a mobile call-to-action as many times as possible

-          Provide a verbal and visual call-to-action

-          Make sure your audience understands that a mobile donation is a two-step process

-          Give your audience enough time to complete their mobile donation

mGive has provided a reliable and intuitive mobile giving platform for Night of Too Many Stars and several other major telethon fundraisers since 2008. Our campaign strategy team is ready to help your organization plan and execute your next fundraising event.  You can always reach us at 866-720-3350
