red cross phone resized 600We have seen a lot of firsts with mobile giving in the United States.  We have seen $1,000 dollars raised per second for The United Way during the Super Bowl.  We have also seen mobile fundraising fused with traditional methods such as concerts, radio, and print with huge success.  Another first will be made this Sunday for the State of New Jersey, as it will be the first occasion on which a mobile giving program is utilized to benefit a New Jersey based charity.

This Sunday, September 21, attendees of the New York Giants v. Cincinnati Bengals game will be asked to join in their support for PSE&G Children's Specialized Hospital by making an on-the-spot text message donation.  The New York Giants have never before dedicated a game to the sole cause of promoting a charity.

Children's Specialized is the nation's largest pediatric rehabilitation hospital, and provides an extensive range of medical, developmental and rehabilitative services to young patients.

Fans at the game will be encouraged to make $5 donations to support the Hospital's children and their families by text messaging the word "Giants" to 90999. Mobile donations for PSE&G Children's Specialized Hospital are powered by mGive.
